The Nashville Convention is a weekend long event, June 23rd to 25th, where the best writers, thinkers, poets, artists come together to discuss the state of the world and path forward. This year, the Convention includes: Auron MacIntyre, Radical Liberation, Dave the Distributist, Charlemagne, and many more.
Last year, we developed Strategies for Navigating the Ruins. This year, we’re Forging a Common Foundation. Our speakers will discuss and debate the need, or lack thereof, for a shared vision How can disparate factions be brought together under one banner? Or should they? What is the foundation that everyone can stand on?
If you want the opportunity to speak at the Convention yourself, there is opportunity to do so. Simply email us with a pitch for your talk, and we will select the best talks to invite to speak. All speakers receive free entry to the Convention, and all completed essays of good quality will be published in the event book. Submissions will close April 28th. ur@scyldings.com - General queries and speaker applications
Like last year, the Convention is accepting applications for speakers. We think this process was an enormous success last year as we heard wonderful talks from some previously unheard voices. There is a wonderful community surrounding the Convention, and the speakers who have already been invited, so choosing applicant speakers from it is a way of hearing from those who don’t have the same presence as many of our headline speakers, but still have their own important ideas and insight. If you wish to apply to speak please contact Uruk. The email address is ur@scyldings.com
• Please keep your pitch under one and a half pages long. There is not a minimum length. Just use as much space as you think you need to communicate your idea.
• We may contact you to further discuss some of the ideas you put across in your pitch. This can be done in whatever way best suits you. Whether we contact you to get more details, or not, is not indicative of how likely your pitch is to be accepted.
• Those who submit the pitches we think fit the event best best, will be given the opportunity to speak at the Convention. If we like your pitch but it doesn’t quite make the cut we may still ask you to extend your pitch into an essay, which we will publish in a book.
